Blogger has some advanced SEO option in blogger by introducing a new 'Search Preference' option today. These are very important updates by blogger team which will make you Blogger/Blogspot blog even more SEO friendly.

To enable the advance/new SEO option in blogger go to Dashboard and under Settings >> Search preferences'. Below are the 7 changes which blogger has implemented.



1. Meta Tags Description - Write description that will appear in search engine for your blog.
2. Custom Page Not Found - Can set a custom message and edit your Not Found pages like wordpress, easily from here.
3. Custom Redirects - Set easy redirection of not found pages to some other page.
4. Custom robots.txt - Blogger now allows to edit Robots.txt file.
5. Custom robots header tags - This Tags are set in blogger XML Pages or sent through HTTP Headers to Allow or Block the Robots.
6. Search Description - Search Description for every individual post.
7. Custom robots tags - Edit Crawling setting for every individual post.

Meta Tags Description: Meta Tags Description will appear in search engine for your home page result, it should be a short Description of 150 Characters.

 Custom Post Search Description: This is some thing what I was expecting from blogger long before, this feature allows to put Custom Meta description for every post and now you can make your post more SEO friendly. To activate this option you have to activate 'Meta Tags Description'

Custom Page Not Found: Can set a custom message for your not found pages and edit your Not Found pages like wordpress, easily from here.
  
Custom Redirects: This will allow you to redirect pages and post internally.

 Custom robots.txt: Blogger now allows to edit Robots.txt file from its own dashboard, but take care before editing robots.txt because it will effect your search engine visibility.

  
Custom robots header tags - This Tags are set in blogger XML Pages or sent through HTTP Headers to Allow or Block the Robots. Changing this will also have major impact in your oage visibality. It give various option for chaging Home Page visibality, Archives and search pages and Default Post and Pages. This features gives variety of option to block particular part of web pages.



Custom Robots Tags for individual Post: You can also implement robots tags like not to index images from the post, automatically remove that page from search engine from a particular time etc on individual post. TO activate this option you have to activate 'Custom robots header tags'

If your blog is new than it is sure that your blog will have very less content and your text ratio will be very low. But you can increase your text ratio rapidly by following points.

Theme : If you are making a new blog then try to choose a clean and clear theme because clean theme have very less and light weight html coding.

Content : Write a lengthy content. Lengthy content will increase text on your blog. But make sure it is relevant to your blog.
